"The Solar Sail" winner of the 2008 San Diego Home and Garden Magazine GREEN AWARD is a radical design project using KYOCERA photovoltaic panels as construction elements.

Hankey Brothers Clean Energy, Inc. offers the high impact visual contet of the Solar Sail in which to place your products and services.

Completed in 2008, the Solar Sail is a complete rethinking of the outdoor living/work space using photovoltaic panels as roofing elements in combination with recycled steel beams and Core-Ten plates as walls.

The interior of the room is accessed through two 3/8" steel doors which pivot silently on pistons to usher you in to this unique space.

The focus of the room is a curved steel fireplace burning clean natural gas through colored recycled glass.

The room is illuminated using dc behind blue three-form panels housed in the upright beams supporting the structure.
