The son of acclaimed Irish landscape artist David C. Hankey, Patrick Hankey was born and educated in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Recruited as a postdoctoral researcher to The University of California, San Diego (UCSD) Patrick has now lived and worked in San Diego, for the past fifteen years. A lifelong environmentalist and career scientist with a Ph.D. in Medical Genetics from The Queen’s University, Belfast, Patrick developed his career first in fundamental medical research moving later to California’s cutting edge biotech industry and the world of pharmaceutical and medical device development.
